This painting was inspired by a trip through Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming and a visit to the Elk Island National Park near Edmonton, Alberta.

Marquisina started this painting ina campsite in Idaho.

The buffalo has a mysterious appearance, shrouded in the mysteries of the past, when herds of these great beasts roamed freely on the plains of North America. They are traditionally a symbol of strength and freedom.
